Custom Post Type

Herodotus registers its own Custom Post Type: herodotus_post.

Why a Separate Post Type?

Your regular WordPress posts (blog articles, news, etc.) remain completely untouched. Herodotus events live in their own space, with their own:

  • Admin menu
  • List table with custom columns
  • Date metabox
  • Category taxonomy
  • Archive and single templates

What This Means for You

  • Herodotus events do NOT appear in your regular blog feed.
  • They do NOT interfere with your blog's RSS feed.
  • They have their own URL structure: yoursite.com/herodotus/event-slug/
  • They have their own archive: yoursite.com/herodotus/

Note: The CPT archive at yoursite.com/herodotus/ shows all published events using the standard WordPress loop — without filtering by today's date. To display only today's events, use the [herodotus] shortcode on a regular page instead.
